Official report on the PSA Range Days July 11-12, 2020

Already for the third time the PAA Shooting Academy organized the PSA Range Days in Mecin, Czech Republic. The aim of the event in July this year was to bring together the shooting community – regardless of whether they were sport shooters, hunters, security, authorities, the military, arms dealers, manufacturers or collectors. Beginners interested in the shooting sport were also very welcome at the Czech range and will continue to be so in the future. Unfortunately, due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic numerous professional shooters and influencers such as Orin Julie were unable to travel to the PSA Range Days. Nevertheless, the wide range of activities on site was very diverse, so there was something suitable for every one of the approximately 250 participants attending from various countries.

Two types of highly dynamic competitions were offered to assess the abilities of all those present: on the one hand, the steel target manufacturer Frimaa sponsored a “SteelCup Speedshot”. Steel plates had to be hit within a certain time and in a pre-defined sequence. Secondly, the “TacSports” discipline was presented on the same weekend. This new discipline combines the strength and endurance of functional fitness with the highly accurate skill of shooting. Leader Trading Germany, one of the main sponsors of the event, provided various weapons for try outs and their PPU ammunition was also used for shooting throughout the event.

Various sponsors had set up booths on site where the participants could get information and demonstrations about new products between their competition runs. When it comes to gun care, of course, the main sponsors Brunox and Vereinigte Filzfabriken AG could not be missing. The main sponsor EAW (Ernst Apel Würzburg) was also involved as an exhibitor of various mounts.

Further sponsors of the PSA Range Days in July 2020 were the companies Steiner, Holosun, HOWA, CANIK, Chiappa, Bergara, Nikko Stirling, Andres Industries AG, Holik International, 3M Peltor, and Diamondback.

In addition to the competitions and numerous exhibition booths, the topic of medical gunshot wound care in an emergency was not neglected. Together with IVF Hartmann AG, one of the main sponsors on the range, the professional instructors from the PAA Shooting Academy demonstrated the company’s trauma box which contains a trauma bandage and a tourniquet.

A food truck provided all those present with food and drink, while the participants were able to end the evenings together in the Pilsen brewery.

Influencers Andre Du from “Lassen Sie Es Krachen” and Carolin Matthie were also provided with internet for their live streams.

Despite the bad weather on Saturday the feedback from all participants about the weekend was very positive. Due to the enthusiasm of the participants and the successful implementation so far, the PAA Shooting Academy plans to organize the PSA Range Days from now on twice a year in spring and autumn.
